Boardwalk Outting

So today kinda sucked cuz i got a huge bill for my car which is really depressing, luckily Juan saved me from my self pitty and me, him, Garrick and Babey (pronounced Bah-baeh) headed down to the beach where as usual i harassed everyone by taking photos

so we started by the Big dipper and wandered all the way to Crystal Pier which sucked in worn out chucks but i got this cool shot


and then i snapped this one of babey


and Juan


Then we stopped at the wave house to get a drink and i got these two, garrick is really fed up with being photographed


i told babey that he's like midnight black and it was freakin out my light meter but i finally got a cool one


Then right when we were leaving we saw this scene to which we all agreed i had to photograph


All in all it was a really good end to a day that started off really crappy so let me just say a quick thank you to all of my friends for keeping me... well... near sane :-p

Juan's Party

So yesterday I was suppose to have an actual shoot but ended up just hanging out with my friend olga, we went around to a few shops in north park and i snapped a few shots off here are the good ones.



i think i scared her in this one cuz she was just talking and turned to look at at me and thats when i struck (haha)

Ok sorry I'm just now getting to this post the past few days have been particularly hectic. Anyways Wednesday i took the day off and went to the beach, unfortunately there are no pictures from that, but after we went and visited benny and as you'll soon see he was much more interesting of a subject then julie and garrick.



I think its interesting how different people hold their cigarettes maybe ill do a series on that

Cuz it's Tuesday!

I didnt have a better title, so yesterday I had the day off which just led mostly to laziness but i didnt hang out with some friends here are the pics.

I really like this one of Juan and i've decided im gonna try to get more portraits like this


So, the plan was to go to pokez but seeing as there was a game last night and the other half of our group wasnt able to find parking me and Juan grabbed the food and met up with the others over at balboa park where the chowed down
btw no color correction on this one


the after the grub-fest it was time to do some exploring

Saturday Craziness Continued and Sunday

So Saturday night I went out to party with my cousins at the compound in Jamul but first we had to rally at the Rancho edwards cenima cuz i'm the only one who really knows how to get around jamul (haha)

i got a couple of slightly open shutter ones i had to hold the camera so i couldn't slow the iso down enough to get anything really cool




Then on Sunday I went out w my brother and the afghans to get lunch











then i went to the She Wants Revenge concert but they didnt allow cameras so i have no photos from that, which is a shame cuz i coulda got some good ones oh well

Saturday porch session

So after running around for the better part of today (without my camera) I came home to discover my dad and amin were over at my next door neighbor's place hanging out an chatting so i grabbed my camera and headed over as well these are the photos,

i really like doing the (semi) artsy shots probably in large part because it throws the viewer off since its not traditionally framed

My dad is so hard to photograph because every time i pick up my camera he poses, you think by now he'd just ignore me, i think you have to admire his dedication


but then again there are a few times i catch him off guard, I personally like these ones better because i feel they have a more human natural element to them

my neighbor adam couldn't be less interested in the fact i was snapping away, i loved it i just wish i would have been at a better angle to photograph him


Here's a really cool fountain he made by hand i really liked it


Hands down this is my favorite from this session im not sure if it's because of the picture itself or the fact that it's of my dad's hand and there is a very soothing quality about it, or if its just that the way he is positioning his hand is so characteristic of him.


Dad if you read this sorry i posted these pictures of you when you told me not to.... actually im not :-) you look good in them so don't worry.
